I have enjoyed training with Chad Andrews at TotalCyclist/Per4mance Training. When I started my training with Per4mance Training over a year ago, I was very frustrated with my lack of improvement on the bike. I always struggled on the hills and was usually dropped in a group ride. After a while, I began to get discouraged with my cycling abilities. By the time I had contacted Chad, I had been cycling consistently for over six years. Although my endurance was pretty good and I could ride for several hours for my training of the MS150, I was very slow.
This year was my fourth year doing the MS 150 Breakaway to the Beach. The first three years training on my own, I did not improve at all. My speed stayed the same and my recovery after the ride took a couple of days. However, this year I was pleasantly surprised at how well I performed. Both days of the ride, I arrived 1 to 1.5 hours earlier than the last three years of the ride and I averaged about 2 mph faster than the years before. Also, my recovery the week after the ride was very quick. Needless to say, I was thrilled.
