TC Athletes Beat the Heat: ORAMM and More!

With one of the fastest times of the day, TotalCyclist athlete Luke Sagur finished the Offroad Assault on Mount Mitchell, better known as ORAMM with an insane time of 5:13, placing him 7th in the Open Mens category. (Yes, 7th out of 397 riders finishing the race.) AMAZING!

Jeff McConaghy set a personal record at ORAMM with a finish time of 6:41, reducing his time by 50 minutes compared to 2011!  Jeff placed 27th in Men 40-50; and 88th overall out of 397 finishers.  Way to go Jeff!

Bonnie Kleffman finished her first  ORAMM, with a blazing fast time of 7:45 and earning 5th place in the Open Women category. Bonnie placed 182 out of 397 overall (men and women).  Congratulations Bonnie on a great finish in a tough race!

Chris Wieczorek finished 37th in the Mens Open, with a time of 7:33. He crossed the line just ahead of his TotalCyclist MTB teammate Kelly Hudson, who also sported a time of 7:33. Amazing job gentlemen!

 

Andrea Hlilderbrand got on the podium in the Masters Women category, earning herself a 2nd place finish with a time of 7:51. Nice job Andrea! Andrea has been killing it on the trail in other disciplines as well. Here are some of her other impressive results from this month:

7/14 - 2nd place women 40-44 Xterra 13k Trail run
7/15 - 3rd place women 40-44 Xterra off road Triathlon
7/21 - 2nd Place women 40-44 Riverbound 15K Trail run

Elsa Lee was proud on the podium at the Jerdon Mountain Challenge, a 30 mile race featuring 4,000 feet of climbing and portions of the ORAMM course. Elsa placed third in her category with a time of 3:18. Congratulations, Elsa!

Laura Gleason completed the French Broad Cycling Classic Liberty Bikes Road Race in Marshall, NC placing 18th out of 28 entrants in the Womens 3/4 class. 

Congratulations to Terrence Gleason for finishing his first road race at the French Broad Cycling Classic!  His finish time and place went unrecorded (race official error) amongst the 44 racers in the Cat 5 / Citizen men's category.  Congratulations Terry on completing your first road race on a challenging course.
